RanLOS receives patent approval in Korea that strengthens the protection of RanLOS connectivity testing system

RanLOS AB (publ) has received a patent approval in Korea for the patent application ”Method and apparatus for testing wireless communication to vehicles”. The approval in Korea follows earlier approvals in Japan, China, Europe, and the US for the same patent family within wireless testing. It strengthens and extends the patent protection for the company’s test system. The patent will be valid until the 15th of December 2036.

RanLOS test system is a cost-efficient solution that enables Automakers to test connectivity (throughput) and antenna radiation patterns in a smart and easy way. With the RanLOS solution, Automakers can test early in the development process and continuously perform repeatable and reliable testing throughout the whole product development process.

Connectivity is in general less reliable at longer distances (far-field). Performing far-field testing is complex and requires large investments. The RanLOS system is a cost-efficient solution to this problem. The system consists of a carbon fiber reflector that creates far-field conditions in just a few meters distance. It is a portable and compact system that can be placed in smaller test facilities. Together with RanLOS software, the hardware system is connected to standard measurement instruments and turntables, resulting in a turnkey solution.

About RanLOS AB (publ)
RanLOS has its origins in research at Chalmers University of Technology. The company was founded in 2016 by Professor Per-Simon Kildal (1951-2016), one of the world’s foremost antenna experts. Professor Kildal, who also founded the companies Gapwaves and Bluetest, had an idea of a simple and cost-effective measurement system to test connectivity in vehicles, base stations, and other connected devices.

RanLOS hardware and proprietary software are based on several years of research and have for example been validated in the SIVERT project (FFI-Vinnova) together with Volvo Cars, Volvo AB, RISE, and Lund University. RanLOS products are designed to test standards such as 4G, 5G, wifi, and V2X.

RanLOS is listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market. Aqurat is RanLOS’ Certified Adviser.
