RanLOS BeamForce 42 - OTA test system

The RanLOS BeamForce 42 test system is the ideal equipment for testing larger devices like vehicles and base stations. Our portable system can be rolled into an existing EMC chamber or other test facilities.

RanLOS BeamForce 42 is an OTA test system for vehicle testing. It consists of a cylindrical reflector fed by a dual-polarized linear antenna array.

The system currently covers the frequency range from 700 MHz to 6 GHz and is upgradeable to higher frequencies on request.

The system provides two operational modes: Passive for antenna radiation pattern measurements and active for communication performance testing, for example throughput. Together with RanLOS BeamLab (software), the system is compatible with a large number of instruments, turntables and other test equipment.

RanLOS BeamForce 8 - OTA test system

RanLOS BeamForce 8 is an ideal equipment for measuring smaller devices such as mobile phones and base stations at higher frequencies.

RanLOS BeamForce 8 consists of a cylindrical reflector fed by a dual polarized passive linear antenna array. It is designed to be installed in small chambers.

The system covers the frequency range from 27 to 28.7 GHz and is upgradeable to other frequencies.

The system provides two operational modes: Passive for antenna radiation pattern measurements and active for communication performance testing, for example throughput. Together with the RanLOS BeamLab (software), the system is compatible with a large number of instruments, turntables, and other test equipment.

Reduce connectivity errors when launching new products or connected devices on the market

The wireless systems are becoming more advanced and will require increasingly more tests to be verified. During my many years in research and development in the field of EMC, the demands on the equipment to be tested have increased. We are now facing a change where not only EMC needs to be tested, but also communication quality between vehicles and the environment. This places other demands on the test equipment in the lab, and the RanLOS system is a great solution for this.

RanLOS vs NF-FF test facility

Comparison between measurements using the RanLOS test system and an accredited test facility using a NF/FF system. The device under test was an antenna mounted on the roof of a vehicle body.

The measurements show that the results from RanLOS setup is a reliable solution, with results in line with advanced test facilities. This measurement as well as many other validation measurements were performed during the FFI-Vinnova project "Simulation and Verification of Wireless Technologies" (SIVERT).

Comparison between measurements using the RanLOS test system and an accredited test facility using a NF/FF system. The measurements was of an antenna mounted on the roof of a vehicle.

The measurements show that the results from RanLOS setup is a reliable solutions compared to bigger, more expensive, test facilities. This measurements was done during SIVERT - a FFI-Vinnova project.
