RanLOS large test system, RanLOS BeamForce 42, is optimized for full vehicle measurements. The smaller test system, RanLOS BeamForce 8, is ideal for smaller base stations or devices.
With RanLOS solutions you can do both passive and active measurements. Passive measurements such as radiation pattern and gain measurements of antennas. Active measurements such as data throughput up to 2×2 MIMO.
The RanLOS test system consists of a cylindrical reflector with a linear feed array. The feed array consists of dual-polarized antennas. The feed array illuminates the reflector which will create a plane wave in the test zone. This means that we can perform measurements in far-field conditions, even though we are at a short distance from the reflector.
By connecting an instrument, either a network analyzer or communication tester, you can perform either passive or active measurements. The device under test is placed on a turntable in front of the reflector antenna. The instrument and turntable are both easily controlled through the RanLOS software called RanLOS BeamLab.
RanLOS measurement software is called RanLOS BeamLab. You can perform a measurement in a few easy steps. Read more and download details about our software on our software and service page here.
Yes, you can measure radiation pattern. You can measure 2D radiation pattern of large devices, such as cars. We are currently developing a tilt system for being used together with RanLOS BeamForce 42, this will make it possible to measure semi-3D radiation patterns.
With RanLOS BeamForce 8 you will be able to measure a full 3D radiation pattern.
With RanLOS solution you can currently measure antennas in the frequency range 0.7 GHz to 6 GHz as well as 27-28.7 GHz.
We are currently developing other frequencies.
We do not have a solution for 55 GHz and 77 GHz yet. However, we are looking into this. Feel free to contact us to talk and discuss other frequencies than the ones we currently provide (0.7 – 6 GHz and 27-28.7 GHz).
Yes, it has been validated .
RanLOS has participated in the government founded project Innovation and Simluation of Wireless Technologies toghether with RISE, Volvo Cars, Volvo AB and Lund University.
RanLOS BeamForce 42 was validated during this project. For RanLOS the three-and-a-half-year long project has been a great success, and has resulted in that we now can offer commercial wireless communication tests for full-scale vehicles. The project has also resulted in two journal papers and three conference papers, covering the RanLOS test system.

The RanLOS software, RanLOS BeamLab, is module-based and supports a range of different instruments and positioners. See full list in our product sheet which you can find here: RanLOS Software and Services
Yes, we sell turntables and positioners for smaller devices. For larger devices, such as vehicles, our software supports already existing turntables and positioners.
Yes, we provide calibration antennas.
